BLACKWOOD — Why did an 18-year-old collapse and die on a South Jersey basketball court?

Anthony "Ant" Dorrego, a June graduate of Highland High School, collapsed and died Sunday night because of an undiagnosed heart condition, his uncle Jimmy Loftis told NJ.com.

He was taken to Kennedy University Hospital in Stratford where he passed away, according to the report.

"Such a great kid! He was so proud of his new Nissan which Christine also once had! He was just telling me last week he wanted to tint the windows. He loved you so much Christine and looked up to you," Loftis wrote on his mother Christine's Facebook page.

Friends gathered to remember him with a vigil on Monday at Veterans Park in Blackwood, according to a  a picture on his mother's Facebook page.

Loftis told NJ.com that Dorrego worked at UPS in Lawnside and planned to be a driver.

A message for the Highland High School principal Lisa Owen has not yet been returned.
