29-Year-Old Court House Man Killed in Early Morning Crash

A 29-year-old man from Cape May Court House was killed early Wednesday morning when his car struck a tree and utility pole on Route 47 in Goshen.

Middle Township Police responded to milepost 15.1 on Route 47 in Goshen around 4:15 Wednesday morning where they found a car, that was being driven by 29-year-old Waymon Hawkins of Cape May Court House, had struck a utility pole and tree. As a result of injuries suffered in the crash, Hawkins was pronounced dead at the scene.

Route 47 was closed for approximately 4 hours due to the crash and power was out in the area for a short time.  The crash is under further investigation by the Middle Township Fatal Crash Team and Major Crimes Unit.
