VINELAND — An elderly woman headed to the Philadelphia Flower Show was struck and killed by a tour bus Monday morning in South Jersey.

The Daily Journal reported an 83-year-old woman was hit by a Sheppard tour bus as she made her way across the parking lot of a shopping center at Lincoln Avenue and Dante Avenue in Vineland to board the bus.

The bus driver was pulling out to get another bus, according to the report, because the bus he was driving had mechanical problems.

The newspaper identified the woman as Myriam Roman.

According to its website, Sheppard Bus is a Millville-based company that has a fleet of over 300 school buses and tour buses.
