Employees at McDonald's on the White Horse Pike in Absecon prevented a robber from leaving their restaurant Monday night. The burglar is now facing charges after grabbing almost no money from a cash register.

Absecon police responded to McDonald's on the White Horse Pike just after 9:00 Monday night after receiving several reports of a robbery. An investigation revealed the robber, identified by police as Cory J. Leuffgen of Little Egg Harbor, placed an order and when the register opened, the suspect grabbed $5 out of the register and fled.  An employee who was on a break blocked Leuffgen from leaving and several other employees held the robber down until police arrived. No one was injured in the incident.

For stealing $5, Leuffgen is now facing second degree robbery charges and is being held on $100,000 bail.
