Absecon police are investigating an incident where a 19-year-old male was shot Tuesday during a drug deal gone bad.

Absecon police were advised of a 19-year-old male who checked himself into Atlanticare Regional Medical Center, City Division, with a gunshot wound to his lower leg. Detectives responded and interviewed the victim who stated he went to the Oyster Bay Apartment Complex on California Avenue in Absecon around 4:00 Tuesday afternoon to purchase drugs. Instead of buying drugs the victim was robbed by two black males, one of which brandished a revolver. According to the victim, a struggle for the gun ensued and several shots were fired. The victim was struck once in his left leg before he was able to flee the area. The accused males were described as high school aged teens possibly wearing Pleasantville High School uniforms. One of the males was described as having short braids or dread locks and the second male was described as being bald or having very closely shaved hair.
