Alleged Road Rage Incident in EHT Leaves Man Injured
Egg Harbor Township Police say one man was struck in the head with a beer bottle following an alleged weekend road rage incident that turned violent.
Around 10:30 Saturday night, officers responded to the Wawa at English Creek and Ocean Heights Avenues after getting a call about an assault. When the arrived, 43-year-old Michael Feldman of EHT said he had a dispute with another driver on Ocean Heights Avenue and was followed to Wawa. At the store, 42-year-old Kevin Johnson of Blackwood, who was later arrested, allegedly assaulted the victim, struck him in the head with a beer bottle, and attempted to run him down with his vehicle. Johnson left the scene but was located by police and arrested for driving while intoxicated.
Feldman suffered injuries to his head, face, and neck in the assault. He was treated at the scene. Johnson was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, assault by auto, disorderly conduct, driving while intoxicated, and other motor vehicle offenses. Bail on these charges was set at $25,000 and Johnson was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
