Atlantic City Man Arrested for Absecon Bank Robbery Tuesday Afternoon
Absecon Police and the FBI arrested an Atlantic City man for robbing a bank in Absecon Tuesday afternoon.
Around lunchtime Tuesday, officers responded to the Absecon branch of TD Bank on the White Horse Pike at Mill Road for a bank robbery. The suspect, described as a black male, about 5' 8", weighing about 300 pounds, gave the teller a note demanding money. The teller handed over an undetermined amount of cash and the suspect fled on Mill Road and was observed getting into a TRICARE ambulance. The ambulance was recovered in Egg Harbor Township and was impounded.
The suspect was identified through surveillance photos as 26-year-old Joseph P. Wilson of Atlantic City. Wilson was located at a residence in Pleasantville and was taken into custody without incident. Wilson was charged with one count of robbery and lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
