Atlantic City Police say a concerned citizen’s assistance led to the arrest of a man for sexually assaulting a woman and forcing her into prostitution.

According to authorities, the scene unfolded on the night of November 30th when two officers responded to the 2600 block of Pacific Avenue for the report of a woman needing help.

The officers located the 911 caller who said he was stopped by 30-year-old Corey Martinez of Atlantic City, who offered to sell him cocaine and the services of a woman. Martinez led the caller to his room inside a residence in the same block.

Martinez and the caller entered the room where the woman was located. After Martinez left, the woman asked the caller for help.

During the investigation, the officers learned that Martinez had sexually assaulted the woman, identified as being 23-yer-old from Pleasantville and was forcing her into prostitution.

Martinez was arrested without incident and charged with sexual assault, simple assault, criminal restrain, promoting prostitution, and refusal to be fingerprinted. He was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
