An Atlantic City man will be spending at least the next 18 years in state prison for sexually assaulting a 7-year-old in 2014.

On May 30, 2014, Atlantic City Police responded to a home on North Harrisburg Avenue for the report of a sexual assault of a child. The person who called 911 said that they entered a room and saw the assault taking place, stated the person was known to their family, and the attacker fled the scene once he was spotted.

Police eventually caught-up with 60-year-old Victoriano Sevilla of Atlantic City and arrested him. Last December, an Atlantic County Grand Jury indicted Sevilla on several counts, including aggravated sexual assault and luring or enticing a child. This past Monday, December 7th, Sevilla pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault under a plea agreement and will serve at least 18 years in state prison. Upon release, Sevilla will be required to register under Megan's Law.

Sentencing is scheduled for January 22nd.
