Atlantic City is swapping their old street lights for LED bulbs just to save money.

According to AP News, Atlantic City will begin the process of installing LED lights in late November. The process or replacing over 5,600 lights will cost $750,000 out of the $2 million grant given by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities.

The second phase will change over 3,000 lights to LED as well. AP News mentions that Atlantic City currently uses LED lights on its boardwalk, which is pretty awesome considering how much light the boardwalk uses and LED is an energy saver.

Atlantic City reportedly spends $2 million on street lighting alone. AP doesn't mention how much it will save after the switch, but I am curious to find out what they will do now with the money they saved.
