After an investigation by police and the Atlantic County Prosecutors Office, it was determined the infant suffered from an overdose of narcotics. On December 21st the infant’s mother, 37-year-old Shannon Devine of Atlantic City, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Devine was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a court appearance.

Cops say the infant has fully recovered and is no longer residing with the mother.
