A bizarre discovery in the woods of Little Egg Harbor Township last Saturday, as officials say bags of decapitated birds were discovered.

Officials say the bags contained different species, including roosters, hens, pigeons and more.

No comment from Little Egg Harbor Township Police about the motive behind the decapitations.

The bags were found in a wooded section of Winding Wood Drive, near Route 9. 22 dead bags were recovered Saturday, then on Monday, officers found 5 more decapitated birds in the area.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Joel Mahr at 609-296-3666 Ext. 178.
