Bicycle Rider Struck by Car in Egg Harbor Township

An Egg Harbor Township man who was riding his bike on the Black Horse Pike Monday evening was injured when he was struck by a car.

Just before 8:00 Monday night, Egg Harbor Township Police responded to the Black Horse Pike near English Creek Avenue. They say a car driven by 19-year-old Hector Rivera of Pleasantville was traveling east on US 40/322 when he encountered 39-year-old Steven Rodriguez of EHT, who was crossing the Black Horse Pike on a bicycle.

Rodriguez was treated at the scene by the Egg Harbor Township Ambulance Squad and taken to ARMC-City with moderate injuries. Traffic was detoured around the crash scene for two hours. The accident continues to be investigated.
