Bridgeton Man Killed in Early Morning Crash in Hamilton Township

An early morning crash in Hamilton Township has claimed the life of a man from Bridgeton.

Hamilton Township Police say they responded to Millville Avenue near Wheeling Avenue just before 3:00 Thursday morning for the report of a crash.

A preliminary investigation revealed the vehicle was traveling westbound on Millville Avenue in the area of milepost 25.5 when it left the road and hit a tree.

The vehicle had two occupants -- a 24-year-old man from Bridgeton who sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries; he was transported to ARMC-City for treatment. The other occupant, a 25-year-old man from Bridgeton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identities are being withheld pending notification of family members.

Police say neither occupant was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
