Brooklyn Bridge Closed Because Of Suspicious Vehicle
A suspicious vehicle lieft unattended closed the Brooklyn Bridge for a time on Monday afternoon.
Police found the unattended SUV on the Manhattan-bound side that appeared to have no license plates late Monday afternoon according to WNBC TV. The NYPD bomb squad and bomb sniffing dogs were brought to check the vehicle, which looked like a Dodge Durango.
The search caused large traffic backups for holiday travelers at the end of the Memorial Day weekend.
The all clear to re-open the span was given shortly after 7:00 p.m. as police prepared to remove the vehicle from the bridge.
