A man from Brooklyn who was apparently renting a home in Brigantine via Airbnb is facing charges after police found a gun inside of a house.

Brigantine Police say they received a call about an open door of a possibly unoccupied home in the 400 block of Sheridan Place on November 4th. A caller told police a burglary may have occurred.

Arriving officers, according to a post on Facebook, found the front door to the home open and they entered to check on the property. Once inside, cops found a handgun on a table in plain view. The handgun was seized and officers secured the residence for further investigation.

Brigantine Detectives determined the house was being rented by 25-year-old Joshua J. Vanosten of Brooklyn, NY, who was eventually arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Vanosten was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
