Heads-up if you take a busy road between the Black Horse Pike and Reega Avenue in Hamilton and Egg Harbor Townships.

The Hamilton Township Police Department reports the Township Committee voted unanimously to approve Ordinance number 1881-2018 last week, which officially establishes the speed limit for the entire length of Cates Road at 25 MPH.

The speed limit on the road, which runs between the Black Horse Pike and McKee Avenue in Hamilton Township, up to Reega and West Jersey Avenues in Egg Harbor Township, was previously 35 MPH in some spots.

Earlier this year, officials in Egg Harbor Township voted to lower the speed limit on Cates Road south of West Jersey Avenue from 50 MPH to 25, according to The Press of Atlantic City.

The Hamilton Township Police Department urges motorists to abide by the new speed limit as enforcement is now under way.
