Cherry Hill High School was evacuated on Monday afternoon over a threat.

The Cherry Hill Public Schools confirmed the incident on their website:

Administrators were told of a threatening message written on the wall in one of the rest rooms at Cherry Hill High School East. Police were notified and are on the scene investigating. As a precautionary measure, we dismissed students approximately 15 minutes early and cancelled after-school and evening activities.

Witnesses who were doing work at the school say a number of police, SWAT team and the Sheriff's Department arrived at the school. The work crew was asked to leave immediately.

The Cherry Hill Patch reported similar activity and said the school went into a Tier II lockdown before students were simply sent home.

Not The Day's Only Threat

There were other threats in south Jersey schools on Monday. The Physical Edication Building on the Pemberton campus of Burlington County College was closed due to an email threat.
