Gov. Chris Christie could take action soon on a bill that would ease access to medical marijuana for kids.He said at an event on Wednesday that he expected to decide by the end of this week.

The bill would drop requirements that a psychiatrist and pediatrician sign off before children are allowed medical marijuana. They would still need a doctor's recommendation, just like adults.

It would also allow production of ingestible forms of pot at state-approved dispensaries.

The bill is being pushed by parents of children with severe seizure disorders who say that children elsewhere have benefited from certain strains of marijuana.

Christie has said he's afraid that parents would end up using the marijuana if children have easier access.
