Christie Starts Busy Week In Washington

Governor Christie is in Washington D.C. today for the National Governors Association meeting to begin a busy week that will see him traveling up-and-down the east coast.

Christie was scheduled to arrive at the meeting on Saturday night. He will be at the White House tonight for the NGA's black-tie dinner hosted by President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama according to the Star Ledger.  The governor brought his oldest son Andrew as his guest.

Christie will return to the White House on Monday for more NGA meetings.

Back To New Jersey For Budget Address & Ask The Governor

On Tuesday he will deliver his annual Budget Address at the Statehouse.  The budget is certain to be focused on recovery from Superstorm Sandy, the worst natural disaster to ever hit the state.

The state is expected to see a boom in construction jobs and an influx of billions of dollars in federal storm recovery money.

Assembly Budget Committee Chairman Vincent Prieto says he hasn't been briefed on the budget proposal and is not sure what to expect.

The Governor  travels to Morris County for a Town Hall meeting in Montville and then to New Jersey 101.5's studios in Ewing for his monthly Ask The Governor program at 7p.m.

Christie is back on the road Thursday for a fundraiser in Virginia hosted by Ed Rogers who leads the BGR Group,  a  Washington, D.C., lobbying group that represents AshBritt,the debris removal company Christie hired on an emergency basis after superstorm Sandy. The move has drawn criticism for circumventing the usual bidding process.

Christie's campaign says the site was chosen by Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell according to HispanicBusiness.com.

Friday In Boston

Friday's fundraiser is at the Boston home of Christophe Egan, aambassador to the Paris-based Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. MassLive.com reports the event will be attended by a number of big-name Republicans including former Senator Scott Brown, Republican National Committeeman Ron Kaufman, possible Massachusetts gubernatorial candidate Charlie Baker and Mitt Romney fundraiser David Tamasi.
