The Huffington Post reports that Christie will play himself on "The Micheal J. Fox Show"  in which he plays a fictional WNBC news anchor who, like Fox, gives up his career when he is diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease.

The show then moves ahead five years as his character Mike Henry decides to return to television as host of a local morning show. Also appearaing on the show: Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie from NBC's Today Show.

Christie seems to be confirming the news with a re-tweet of the Huffington Post announcement.

Christie has been a frequent guest on NBC programs including Today and Morning Joe on MSNBC. He also appeared on Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update in which he talked about the fleece he wore in the days after Superstorm Sandy.

The Michael J. Fox Show debuts on Thursday, September 26.
