Construction To Close Lane On Longport Bridge

Construction is expected to cause delays for motorists who use the bridge leading into Longport.

The span will be reduced to one lane, starting Thursday. The lane closings will continue through May.

Atlantic County engineer Joseph D'Abundo tells The Press of Atlantic City the work includes repairing the foundation, replacing many steel supports and resurfacing the deck.

Nearly 8,000 vehicles use the span daily traveling between Longport, Ocean City and the mainland.
