Temperatures are forecast to stay below-normal for all but one day this week with no big storm systems in the forecast.

We're stuck in a rut, with consistently cool and mostly quiet weather in the forecast for New Jersey. In fact, it looks like this trend of cooler-than-normal weather will continue all the way through Thanksgiving Day next week.

Tuesday is off to a chilly start, with most temperatures hovering around the freezing mark. That's a potential problem, as leftover puddles from Monday's rain is subject to freezing. Patchy fog is also a possibility. Both will be minor inconveniences, at the most.

I think skies will feature a good deal of sunshine throughout Tuesday, dotted by fair-weather clouds. Temperatures will be similar to Monday, in the upper 40s to around 50. That's about 5 to 10 degrees below normal for mid-November.

Tuesday night will be quiet and cool, with most lows dipping into the mid 30s. I think most of New Jersey will just barely miss the freezing mark. Skies will be partly cloudy overnight.

Clouds will increase again during the day Wednesday, leading to our next storm system. High temperatures will again be limited to around 50 degrees. Any precipitation will hold off until Wednesday night, after 10 p.m. at the earliest. And it looks to be all rain.

As showers wrap up Thursday morning, skies will quickly clear to sunshine. And we'll warm up too, with forecast highs near 60 degrees! I hesitate calling it a truly "nice" day, as a brisk wind will pick up (gusting to 30 mph).

Don't get used to the taste of milder weather, as temps dip again on Friday. Not a terrible way to end the work week, with mostly sunny skies and temps just below normal in the lower 50s.

The upcoming weekend will start with rain — in fact, Saturday could be a pretty wet day overall. Note I said rain, not snow, with near-normal temperatures in the mid 50s.

Behind the rain will come another shot of cold air for the second half of the weekend. Highs on Sunday will only reach the mid 40s, with a brisk wind. And again, it looks like this cool streak will continue through much of next week. Can you believe Thanksgiving is now only 9 days away?
