ATLANTIC CITY — One person was found dead in a room at the Tropicana Casino on Tuesday afternoon.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office, in a statement, said they were conducting a "death investigation" of what was considered an isolated incident at the hotel, with no threat to the public.

Prosecutor Damon Tyner told 6 ABC Action News that the casino called police after checking on a room where the guests had stayed past checkout time.

A second person in the room was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, according to the Press of Atlantic City.

Tyner did not disclose the number of people involved in the incident.
