If you haven't driven around the back of the Shore Mall in Egg Harbor Township in the past few weeks, what you see might surprise you.

The demolition of the old Steinbach / Value City store at the back of the Shore Mall is moving along at a pretty rapid place. Since the beginning of April, the old store has gone from a solid structure to a skeleton.

Steinbach at the Shore Mall closed in 1995, followed by Value City occupying that space from 1996 to 2008. Expect for a brief stay by the Community Food Bank, it's been vacant since Value City closed.

It was announced last summer that about 200,000 square feet of the Shore Mall would be demolished to reduce the yearly property tax bill on the property.
