Due to overcrowding at animal shelters in Louisiana following last month's devastating storm flooding, many dogs have been transported to Camden County and are in need of loving homes.

There are 18 dogs and puppies rescued from Louisiana available for adoption at the Camden County Animal Shelter in Gloucester Township, like Eliza, a 4-year-old Great Dane looking for a new forever-home after her family’s was lost in the flooding.

Also up for adoption are Sugar a 12-week old Dachshund puppy, Rocky a 2-year-old German Shepherd mix and Gordo a 3-year-old Corgi mix.

The dogs were relocated to ease the extreme overcrowding situation in Louisiana.  The flood has been labeled the worst natural disaster to strike the U.S. since Hurricane Sandy four years ago.

Camden County Freeholder Jonathan Young said in a statement, “These dogs have traveled a great distance to find someone to provide them with the love and care they deserve. These dogs, along with other animals, are waiting for you to provide them with their forever home.”

Camden County Animal Shelter is located at 125 County House Road, Blackwood, NJ  08012.
