Alleged Drunk Driver Gets Car Stuck on Local Beach [VIDEO]

The tradition of 'Bag Day', the day of recovery following St. Patrick's Day, turned into a sandy adventure for one driver who took a wrong turn into the Atlantic Ocean.

Police were called to the stretch of beach off Andover Street in Margate Monday around 4:45 p.m. after reports of a driver joyriding along the sand, according to NBC40.net.  The man behind the wheel had driven his car on a portion of the boardwalk in Ventnor before crashing into the ocean in Margate.  The vehicle became partially submerged and stuck in the sand.

Margate Police determined the driver was intoxicated.  He was transported to an area hospital and charged with DWI.
