Dump Truck Plunges Off of Great Egg Harbor Bridge; Major Delays on Garden State Parkway

Friday afternoon, a dump truck went over the side of the Great Egg Harbor Bridge on the Garden State Parkway causing massive traffic delays.

The accident happened Friday afternoon just as the Memorial Day Weekend was getting underway. New Jersey State Police say the driver was taken to the Atlantic City division of AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.

Unconfirmed reports from witnesses day the dump truck hit a guardrail, spun on the roadway, hit a guardrail again, then went plunging into the water.
