Egg Harbor Township Resident Sets Home on Fire With 12 Year Old Inside

Early this morning, the Egg Harbor Township Police and Fire Departments responded to a residence on Windwood Drive in reference to a structure fire.

Officers responded and discovered a fire at the residence and assisted the occupants in exiting the structure. No injuries were reported. The Cardiff and Bargaintown Fire Companies responded, extinguished the fire, and determined it had been intentionally set.

An investigation determined the fire had been intentionally set by the homeowner, Amy Ochetto of Egg Harbor Township, who used a flammable liquid to start the fire. Also in the residence when the fire was set was Ochetto’s 12 year old daughter and a 41 year old person from Galloway Township.

Ochetto was arrested and was charged with aggravated arson, two counts of aggravated assault, and endangering the welfare of a child. Bail was set at $100,000 cash and Ochetto was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
