A man from Egg Harbor Township has been arrested after cops say he dropped a gun while running from police in Atlantic City last month.

Atlantic City Police responded to the 600 block of Dr. King Blvd. for a ShotSpotter notification and reports of gunfire on the late afternoon of March 29th. Officers arrived to find evidence that gunshots had been fired along with information regarding two potential suspects that fled in a vehicle.

According to accounts, within minutes of receiving the call, an officer located a vehicle with three men near it in the 1600 block of Arctic Avenue. One of the men matched the description of a possible suspect; that man, identified as 44-year-old Terri Bailey of Egg Harbor Township, ran from officers. While running, Bailey removed a loaded gun from his waistband and dropped it to the ground. Bailey ran into an apartment complex where officers lost track of him.

On Friday, detectives located Bailey leaving a home on the 100 block of Woodpecker Road in Egg Harbor Township. He was taken into custody without incident.

Bailey has been charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, and obstruction of justice, and was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
