A call to check on a suspicious vehicle by Egg Harbor Township Police led to the arrests of three local men on gun charges.

Police say that just after 3PM Wednesday, officers responded to the Rodeway Inn on the Black Horse Pike.

According to a news release:

Upon arrival Officer Raymond Wilson observed 3 subjects in the vehicle one of which was wanted on an NCIC warrant. Officers James Macpherson, Ernest Dunson and Joseph Griffiths responded to the scene and a subsequent investigation led to the recovery of heroin, marijuana, Xanax and a loaded handgun. All 3 vehicle occupants were taken into custody.
Arrested were Doward Davis (25 years of age from Egg Harbor Township), Aaron Carter (45 years of age from Egg Harbor) and Rodney Emory (23 years of age from Atlantic City). All three suspects were charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose. Additionally, Emory was charged with the possession of the recovered drugs and the warrant for Davis was for not paying his child support obligation. Municipal Court Judge H.R. Switzer set bail for Carter and Davis at $5000.00 full and for Emory at 10,000.00 full. All 3 were lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
