Fiery, Multi-Vehicle Crash Injures Several People in Hamilton Township
A fiery, multi-car crash injured several people Monday afternoon in Hamilton Township.
Police say a car driven by 70-year-old Harry Palmer, Jr., was traveling northbound on Country Route 559 when, for an unknown reason, he crossed into the southbound lane of traffic and struck a car being driven by 58-year-old Josepg Carfagno, Jr., of EHT. After hitting that car, Palmer's car then struck another car being driven by 31-year-old Stephanie Ward of Philadelphia.
Another vehicle, being driven by 46-year-old Blanca Lopez-Ocampo of EHT was traveling southbound on Route 559, then struck Carfagno's overturned car.
In the accident, Palmer's car burst into flames and both Carfago and his passenger, 35-year-old Brian Pennese of Egg Harbor City, were ejected from their car.
Palmer was airlifted to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City for treatment, all others were taken to local hospitals. The accident remains under investigation. Police say charges are pending.
