Foreclosure Prevention Workshop Tuesday in Atlantic City
If you're on the edge of foreclosure, there are resources to pull you back to solid financial ground. Learn about them Tuesday, October 18 at the All Wars Memorial Building in Atlantic City.
The New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (HMFA) offers free information on foreclosure prevention, from 3 PM until 8 PM.
Housing counselors, approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), will work individually with home owners to help stave off foreclosure, or to help home owners clearly understand how the process works.
Home owners can also learn about short-term mortgage-payment subsidies, energy assistance, career counseling, job search help, and other services.
Agencies and companies taking part include Atlantic City Electric; the Atlantic County One-Stop Career Center, the Atlantic County Sheriff's Office and R.E.A.L. Help program; Clarifi Housing Counselors; Consumer Credit and Budget Counseling, Inc.; NJSHARES; United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey; and Community Food Bank of New Jersey.
