The former vice principal and athletic director at Ocean City High School has been indicted for allegedly accessing the email account of her superior to gain the upper hand in contract negotiations.

Cape May County prosecutors are charging Christine Lentz with official misconduct, computer criminal activity and theft in the indictment handed up Tuesday by a county grand jury.

Prosecutors say Lentz accessed the email account of Superintendent Kathleen Taylor without permission several times between April and June of 2015.

Christine Lentz, a 30-year employee of the Ocean City school district, was also the school's former girls basketball coach and an ex-board of education member in Upper Township before retiring in July as the email hacking allegations against her became known.

The 53-year-old Woodbine resident could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted on all counts.
