The shuttered Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City is getting new owners.

A press release from Carl Icahn's Icahn Enterprises has announced a definitive agreement to sell the Taj Mahal to a group of investors led by Hard Rock International.

In the press release, Icahn said,

We at IEP are extremely happy with our ownership of the Tropicana Casino & Resort, and after considerable analysis and deliberation we determined that we only wanted to own one operating casino property in Atlantic City. A sale of the Taj Mahal therefore represents the optimal outcome for us. We wish Hard Rock and its partners the best of luck with the Taj Mahal.

The press release noted the deal does not include Trump Plaza, which remains for sale.

The Taj Mahal, which opened in 1990 to the tune of almost $1 billion, closed this past October. A purchase price for the Taj Mahal was not announced.
