The manhunt continues for a second day for a prisoner who escaped police custody as he was being taken into the Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly.

New Jersey State Police say K9 units, planes and helicopters are all being used in the search for Michael Mimms who, while handcuffed to a transport belt, managed to get away from a Willingboro police officer making the prisoner transfer to the county facility.

Mimms was arrested on a warrant from Delaware County, Pennsylvania and was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun according to New Jersey State Police

Police continue to warn residents to look for suspicious activity in their yard especially open sheds, property moved and gates open that were not open before.

Mimms was last seen wearing wearing a multi-colored shirt, shorts and brown socks with no shoes. Anyone who spots Mimms should immediately call 911.
