Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Joe Callahan is heading home.

The 24-year Holy Spirit High School alum, from Absecon, will continue his NFL career with the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.

The Packers waived Callahan on April 30, after spending most of the past two years on the Packers' practice squad.  He made his NFL debut last season, appearing in one game, completing 5 of 7 passes for 11 yards.

The Holy Spirit High School alum will provide the Eagles will extra depth while Carson Wentz recovers from his ACL injury.  He will share the quarterback room with Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles and Nate Sudfeld.

With Wentz unlikely to play in the preseason, it will be a good opportunity for Callahan to get some reps in live game action.  Foles will most likely get very limited reps in the starting role, while Sudfeld will serve as the backup, leaving Callahan plenty of time to get some valuable game action to showcase his skills to other teams.
