The 6th Annual Hurley in the Morning Golf Open, presented by Martin and Sheila O'Boyle, set an event record $84,821 on June 21st at The Mays Landing Golf and Country Club!

"We set an event record in terms of our number of golfers, hole sponsors, our Silent Auction and Hurley's Heroes ($ 1,000-plus contributors)," said charity event Founder and Chairman Harry Hurley.

"Even the elements that were beyond our control were picture perfect," said Hurley. "A brilliant sunny day, with no humidity provided the perfect back-drop for a record day."

A live interview Hurley did on event day with New Jersey State Senator Jeff Van Drew, D-1 and New Jersey Assemblyman John Amodeo, R-2 perhaps summed it up best, when Hurley announced on-air in their presence, "Today, we're not Republicans and Democrats ... we're Americans, and, we've all come together to support many worthy charities who need our help."

Four hours of the charity event were broadcast live on Townsquare Atlantic City's WPG Talk Radio 1450.

With a potential substantial donation still possible, the record event total could still go even higher. Hurley also plans to do a live on-air auction (in the very near future) for several valuable items, including a foursome to Trump National National Golf Club in Colts Neck New Jersey, personally donated by Donald J. Trump to Hurley.

"This is an exclusive Club," said Hurley. "There's no way to get in to play without the special entry gift certificate Mr. Trump gave to our charity. The first person to offer $ 1,000 can take a party of four to play at this wonderful course."

"I want to take this opportunity to thank the greatest community of friends and unconditional supporters anywhere to be found in America for their unwavering support over the past 6 years," said Hurley."

At the charity event, Hurley presented The Shore Medical Center Health Foundation with a $10,000 grant; John R. Elliott HERO Campaign for Designated Drivers $5,000 grant; FACES 4 Autism $5,000 grant; The Patrick Henry Center $1,000; The Atlantic City Sandpipers $1,000; The Dean Randazzo Cancer Foundation $500 and The Absecon Light House $500.

Many more grants will be awarded over the next several weeks.

The Hurley Charity has now raised a cumulative total of more than $300,000 over the past six years.

The 7th Annual "Hurley in the Morning" Golf Open is set for Friday, June 20, 2014, to be held at The Mays Landing Golf & Country Club.
