A great American patriot and a regular WPG Talk Radio 104.1 listener and caller passed away suddenly on the evening of March 2nd.

Russell Bongiovanni was one of the most fearless, relentless, and effective citizen activists in our region's history. He held all elected and appointed officials to account; from Governor Chris Christie to any local elected or appointed board member.

Russ respected those who demonstrated honesty, high character, and integrity.

Russ loved our country and served with honor and distinction in our United States Military to defend her. In 2015, Russell was honored as part of Hamilton Township’s Honors and Remembers program. An article in Shore News Today recapped his military life and professional career...

Bongiovanni enlisted in the U.S. Army in June of 1959. Upon completing his airborne training he was shipped overseas to the 8th Division in Germany.  His nonmilitary career started with the 7-Eleven convenience store chain. He... created its national franchise system. After that he worked with a number of national real estate franchise corporations, where he serviced more than 400 franchise real estate offices in 11 states in the Northeast United States.

Our region has lost a hero. Heaven has accepted its newest angel.
