Happy Birthday to South Jersey's official National Historic Landmark! Lucy the Elephant celebrates her 135th birthday from 10am-8pm this Saturday in Margate.

Always topical, Saturday's party has a "Lucy for President" theme, and, you have to admit, the old girl is way more popular than her two human competitors!

It should be quite a weekend for Lucy, who first celebrated in 1881, when James Garfield was the President of the United States.

A large crowd of Lucy lovers are expected, with this year's party featuring a 9-hole miniature golf course, a photo “voting” booth, water slide, rock wall, moon bounce, carnival games, and, of course, birthday cake.

Lucy the Elephant gets about 130,000 visitors a year at her home on Atlantic Avenue overlooking the ocean in Margate. Lucy stands over six stories high and weighs over 90 tons.

Lucy is the No. 1 non-gaming attraction in the Atlantic City area according to The Atlantic City City Convention and Visitors Authority.

When is the last time you visited our National Historic Landmark?  How about stopping by Saturday to say Happy Birthday, Lucy!
