Mays Landing Man Critical After Being Struck By Car on Route 40

A Mays Landing man is in critical condition after being hit by a car, while he attempted to cross Route 40, near Brandywine Avenue in Mays Landing.

Hamilton Township Police were called to the scene at 11:30PM Saturday.

A vehicle driven by Wayne Fisher, 53, of Vineland, struck a pedestrian, who was trying to cross the roadway. The pedestrian has been identified as John Garrison, 51, of Mays Landing. Garrison was treated at the scene and taken to the hospital, where his last known condition was "critical."

The accident remains under investigation.
