New Jersey is represented by eight athletes at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.According to the official roster released by the United States Olympic Committee on Monday, Garden State athletes will be competing in ice hockey, speedskating, skiing, and bobsled.

    HOMETOWN: Flemington
    SPORT: Men’s Track speedskating

    Kyle Carr and family lived in Holland Township but moved to the Reading area when he was 11. He and teammate Chris Creveling competed in in-line skating at the Frenchtown Roller Rink in Kingwood Township which is run by Creveling's aunt. Carr competed for a spot on the 2010 team but missed it by 1/100 of a second.

    SPORT: Short Track Speedskating

    Much like his Olympic teammate Kyle Carr, Creveling is a first-time Olympian. Leading up to Sochi, Creveling has enjoyed success as part of the World Cup Team with a win in the 1000 meters at the 2013 National Championships and boasting the highest of any American - at the 2013 World Championships.

    SPORT: Women’s bobsled

    Jazmine is the pilot for the women's bobsled team. She's been involved in bobsledding  since 2007 and is a graduate of Rider University.

    Jamie has been competing in bobsled events since 2007-2008. Greubel started as a brakeman and decided to become a driver midway through her career.

    SPORT: Men’s alpine skiing

    Kasper has performed an amazing comeback story as he has rebounded from 2 hip surgeries, a torn ACL and meniscus leading up to 2014 and still battled his way back to be a part of U.S. Men's Olympic Ski Team.

    SPORT: Women’s hockey

    Schaus was a silver medalist at the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver. As a member of the U.S. Women's National Team, Schaus has competed in four International Ice Hockey Federation Women's World Championships.

    James van Riemsdyk

    HOMETOWN: Middletown
    SPORTS: men's hockey

    While van Riemsdyk plays professionally for the Toronto Maple Leafs, he is no stranger to international competition. James competed on the U.S. Men's National Team in 2011, he also played on 3 National Junior Teams from '07 - '09 and 2 National US Men's National Under-18 Team in '06 and '07.
