Our sincere condolences to the family of 15-year-old Ariel Caro of Cape May Court House who died on Monday, November 12th, after a four and a half year battle with cancer.

Her funeral services are today, Thursday, November 15.

Caro was a freshman at Middle Township High School. According to her obituary, Ariel had atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumor, a rare and fast-growing cancerous tumor of the brain and spinal cord.

The Middle Township High School family is in morning over Ariel's passing and is offering counseling for any students or staff in need of emotional support. Students were encouraged to wear yellow or gold colors to school Thursday to support pediatric cancer awareness.

In 2017, when Ariel was undergoing treatment for brain cancer at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, students, staff members, and members of the community shaved or cut their hair and raised more than $25,000 for childhood cancer research through the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, according to the The Press of Atlantic City.

Ariel Caro is survived by her mother and father and her brother.
