A Millville woman could be facing five years in prison after she admitted to running an organized shoplifting ring in South Jersey.

Chiara Pender and other members of the shoplifting ring would purchase items and return them for store credit in the form of gift cards. They would then sell those gift cards to pawn shops. With this scheme, they were able to accumulate $20,000 in a matter of 6 months.

Pender pleaded guilty in Camden County Superior Court on Friday and is heading back for sentencing on May 26.
