A 45-year-old car dealership employee who was allegedly high on meth was arrested along with her husband Tuesday after the woman stripped naked and locked herself in a restroom, state police said.

Kimberley Shields of Sussex was was charged with possession of methamphetamine and being criminally under the influence, according to police. NJ State Police said in a Facebook post Wednesday that Shields arrived at the car dealership in Wantage Township for work, but then entered a restroom, stripped naked and refused to come out. Police say employees at the dealership called 911 to report the incident.

When troopers from the Sussex Station arrived, Shields was placed under arrest. Authorities say she did not resist. Her husband, 58-year-old David Shields, was a different story, police said. The man arrived shortly after the arrest and "made it a point to interfere with the investigation," according to NJ State Police.

"As a result, Mr. Shields went from not having to be arrested to being arrested," police said in a statement Wednesday.

During the course of the investigation, police say Kimberly Shield was found to be under the influence of methamphetamine, as well as in possession of the drug. She was charged with possession of methamphetamine and being criminally under the influence, authorities said. Police say she was transported to Newton Memorial Hospital for evaluation.

David Shields was arrested and charged with obstruction. He was released from custody pending a future court hearing, police said.
