Newly Released Prisoner Accused of Robbing Ocean City Coffee Shop
A man who was released from the state department of correction last month after serving ten years for armed robbery is back in jail tonight, accused of robbing the >Ocean City Coffee Company on the Ocean City Boardwalk.
The Press of Atlantic City reports that Robert Hurless, 47, forced a store employee to empty the cash register at knife point on Nov. 6th. He was captured on surveillance camera riding a bike away from the store after the robbery.
Hurless was charged with first degree armed robbery, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, unlawful possession of a weapon and certain persons prohibited from possession weapons, police said.
Hurless was arrested Wednesday at a residence on the 1400 block of Ocean Avenue after police executed a search warrant. He is being kept in the Cape May County Jail Facility on a bail of $150,000 cash.
According to the state department of corrections, Hurless had just been released from state prison on October 21 after serving 10 years for armed robbery.
