NJ Gas Prices Continue Their Climb

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in New Jersey on Friday was $3.42, up 3 cents from last week. But that's still lower than the price from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.58.

The increase marks the fourth straight week that pump prices have risen in New Jersey.

Meanwhile, the national average price rose by 3 cents to $3.65. That's still lower than the national average from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.68.

We’re going to see “lower prices ahead,” according to Tom Kloza, chief oil analyst for OPIS and AAA Gas price partner, due to the fact that “demand has steadily been deteriorating on a year-over-year basis.”  Kloza expects gas prices to fall throughout the summer, but said factors such as the upcoming hurricane season could deflect that prediction.
