NJ Gets Another $11 Million For Sandy Victims

The New Jersey Department of Family Development will get more than $11 million to match Sandy victims with individual case managers to help residents identify and receive available aid.

The funding is provided through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Disaster Case Management Program.

U.S. Senator Frank Senator Lautenberg, Vice Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee that funds FEMA says, “New Jersey families are working hard to recover from Sandy, and this federal funding will help ensure that they have access to all the resources they need. It can be difficult for families to navigate the resources available to them while they're getting back on their feet, and this federal program will help ensure that Sandy victims have access to personalized expert guidance to help get them through this difficult time.”

This federal funding supports FEMA case managers that will work one-on-one with disaster survivors and facilitate access to available federal, state, and private resources. Case managers assess the victim's needs, develop a recovery plan, and help ensure that the individual receives the support available to them.
