In a post on their Facebook page, State Police say the unidentified troopers were working a construction zone on the Garden State Parkway in Middle Township when each of their cruisers were struck just after 2 p.m as a strong thunderstorm moved to the northeast along the coast.

One of the troopers was taken to Atlantic City Medical Center for evaluation but, according to the tweet, "seems to be alright."
