Boardwalk Hall officials and casino executives announced today that a total of $500,000 was raised for the Red Cross from Operation Hat Trick last month.

Dozens of NHL players traveled to a Hurricane Sandy-ravaged Atlantic City and put on a charity ice hockey game for fans in the area at Boardwalk Hall on November 24th. Former Flyers Todd Fedoruk and Rick Tocchet put on the event with stars like Martin Brodeur and Henrik Lundqvist playing goal for their respective teams. With the NHL immersed in a lockout, Atlantic City became the center of the ice hockey universe (at least for one night).

Governor Chris Christie says the super storm cost New Jersey around $40 billion; he is in Washington, DC, today to lobby to White House officials for emergency funds to cover 100 percent of the damage caused by the hurricane.
